The announcements started spreading of that, in fact, Kojima Productions had been made for Google Stadia, but it had been canceled early in the development. Though there are several reasons for this rumor to be disputed, one insider is insistant that Death Stranding 2 will always be a Sony and the nature of this contract means it’ll be the last PlayStation-exclusive game of Kojima, at least for now.
Is Death Stranding 2 all Xbox games?
Kojima Productions hasn’t confirmed they are making Death Stranding 2, but people like the protagonist Sam Porter Bridges actor Norman Reedus suggest that the game’s inactive development. Since the IP on Death Stranding is owned by Sony and not by Kojima Productions, the sequel will likely be the second game of the multi-game agreement the two companies signed for a very long time, at least according to Insider Dusk Golem anyway. There was also no further information, that the game is apparently codenamed Ocean, but no other details about death stranding 2 were revealed.
The plus interesting thing about this claim is that Sony and Kojima Productions have a multi-game contract that has currently produced Death Stranding and is due to yield another game. However, the contract doesn’t matter whether that game is Death Stranding or not, the contract is due to end at the end of the second game. At the moment, Sony and Kojima are apparently in negotiations on the possibility of extension or renewal of this contract or simply to let it expire. If the contract isn’t renewed, Death stranding 2 could be the last Playstation-exclusive game we get from Kojima Productions, a plus, if the studio has agreed to create a video game that nobody has ever encountered before.
