Luka Doncic made history as just the sixth player to have a Jordan Brand signature shoe, and the first European player to be given that honor.
The young guard’s talent was immediately recognized by Jordan Brand and they invested a lot into getting the Slovenian onto their roster.
As the sneaker world eagerly awaited the news of Doncic’s first signature shoe, we saw the Mavericks’ point guard tease us by wearing some Player Exclusive makeups of Jordan retros, including this red pair of the Air Jordan XI IE lows back in April.
The shoe featured Doncic’s logo on the tongue and got the sneaker world talking.

What is Luka Doncic’s signature shoe with Jordan Brand?
Jordan Brand announced the arrival of Doncic’s signature shoe way back in 2019 when he was fresh off a Rookie of the Year winning campaign.
Doncic and Jordan Brand reached a multi-year agreement in December of that year, and a signature shoe with the company was certainly part of the agreement.
Earlier in the 2021-22 NBA season, Doncic debuted his soon-to-be-released signature shoe, the Jordan Luka 1, when he returned from injury for Game 4 of the Mavericks’ first-round playoff series with the Jazz.
Doncic had been spotted in Player Exclusive colorways of the Jordan flagship model (variations of the Air Jordan 35 Low, 36 Low and Jordan Zoom Separate were among his favorites), along with various different models of their retro line adorned with his Luka Doncic logo. It wasn’t until the playoffs that we got a good look at the Slovenian’s signature model on-court.

The Luka 1 features Jordan Brands’ new IsoPlate system for containment and a new Formula 23 foam for a lightweight and responsive cushioning system.
Doncic is the first European player to have a signature shoe with Michael Jordan’s brand.
When does the Jordan Luka 1 release?
The Jordan Luka 1 began hitting retailers across North America in late June and is available now. There have already been several different colorways released with more on the way.
