With dope new seasons, fresh films and original content headed to BET Plus, Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, and Apple+TV here are our top 10 films and shows to stream this month.
MARCH 1.
Tyler Perry’s The Oval has fans glued to their seats with his dramatic spin on an interracial first family, starring Ed Quinn and Kron Moore who becomes the White House’s newest residents. But behind the larger-than-life doors unveils a torrent of lies, cheating and corruption.
MARCH 10.
Karma’s World S2 (Netflix)
Rapper Chris “Ludacris” Bridges is one of the creative geniuses behind the animated children’s series based on his oldest daughter Karma Bridges. Karma’s World follows a young musician and rapper, Karma Grant, as she navigates her passions and continuously tackles the complex issues of self-esteem, racism, and identity.
In Season 3 viewers will fall right back into the hair-raising events as Paula (Samantha L. Thomas) and Lacey (Alise Willis) attempt to escape the compound while Oliver (Stevie Baggs) stays behind to fight off the Rakudushis soldiers. Meanwhile, Ruth (Melissa L. Williams) stop Marva’s (Lyne Odums) plan to resolve The Highest’s Matt Cedeño) anger and calm him.
Starring Jennifer Freeman and Thapelo Mokoena, this new BET+ movie follows Riley (Freeman) as she is invited to South Africa to meet her boyfriend’s (Mokoena) family. The couple’s trust ultimately becomes rocky when she discovers he is a prince and must do whatever he can to win her love back.
MARCH 11.
The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey (Apple+TV)
Starring Samuel L. Jackson (Ptolemy Grey) and Dominique Fishback (Robyn), Jackson’s Gret is living with onset signs of dementia but soon experiences a seismic shift when given the opportunity to briefly regain his memories. Taking advantage of the opportunity, he attempts to use it to solve his nephew’s death.
MARCH 17.
This romantic drama stars Essence Atkins and Keith Robinson and puts the practice of open marriages to the test. Atkins’ Wren soon reconnects with an old lover and must decide whether to pursue true love or honor her commitment.
MARCH 18.
It’s been two years since fans have seen Dushane (Ashley Walters ) and Sully (Kane ‘Kano’ Robinson) at the Summer House Estate in East London, but the highly-anticipated series, executive producer by Drake is back. Several cliffhangers left viewers on edge during Season 1 and as viewers get dropped back into the wild ride in the UK, we are definitely in for a treat.
MARCH 24.
The second to last season of Atlanta will take place in Europe as Earn (Donald Glover), his cousin Paper Boi (Brian Tyree Henry), Darius (LaKeith Stanfield), and his on-again, off-again girlfriend Van (Zazie Beetz) are in the midst of a successful tour. Now, struggling to adjust to being expats and navigating newfound blessings, we have to wait and find out what the crew is up to. Glover confirmed earlier this year that Atlanta would come to an end with Season 4 premiering in fall 2022.
MARCH 25.
The Shonda Rhimes-produced period drama is back! While the story won’t follow budding romance between Daphne Basset (Phoebe Dyvenor) and Duke Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page), since Page’s departure from the show, fans can be to swoon over the eldest Bridgerton sibling Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) journey to find love between sisters Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran) and Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley).
Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls (Prime Video)
This unscripted series follows Grammy Award-winning artist Lizzo on the quest for “confident, bad-ass women to join the elite ranks of the Big Grrrls.” Ten hopeful candidates move into the Big Grrrls House, where they must prove they have what it takes to join Lizzo on tour.
