“Real Housewives of Atlanta” star NeNe Leakes is back in the headlines. Hours ago, it was revealed her son Brentt Leakes was rushed to the hospital recently. He suffered a heart attack and stroke. And people were shocked by the news since Brentt is only 23 years old. According to TMZ, Brentt was in the hospital for several days. Sources close to NeNe told the media outlet that he’s been recovering. No cause was released.
Well, NeNe took to Instagram Live to give her supporters an update about Brentt’s health. She said, “Two weeks ago today, Brentt had congestive heart failure and a stroke. He’s only 23 so he’s really young for something like that to happen to him. The first thing a lot of doctors think of when someone that age comes in for that kind of condition is maybe they had been on drugs or maybe they have some serious infection. Maybe HIV or some sort of infection is what I’m being told by the doctors.”
NeNe said Brentt doesn’t drink or do drugs.
“Brentt doesn’t drink or do drugs. And obviously, they’ve tested him for all of those things. And they’ve also tested him for HIV. They were thinking that maybe he caught Covid. And he didn’t know he had Covid. The doctor did say they saw things like that happening where if they caught the Delta variant, and he never knew he had Covid. I’ve never known him to have Covid.”
More tests are needed, “So they have run a number of tests on him to see what could have possibly made this happen to him. And we are still trying to figure out because if we knew the cause, obviously they can treat the cause.”
She also said her lounge, The Linnethia, is still open. But she’s thinking about selling it since it was Brentt’s job.
